Sharing Tool
Building share buttons for one post, with a version for the site and a separate one for your newsletter that needs no JavaScript.
Choose a post
Pick the post from the picker, or paste its URL; a public address and an admin editor link both work. The Share URL is what the buttons will share. A draft's address is a best guess until it's published, so re-check it if you change the slug.
Configuration
- The platforms you actually want, not the fifteen every widget insists on: X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, Reddit, Email.
- The style: Circles, Compact or Expanded.
- The Accent Color, and black or white text and icons on it.
Preview and code
The Social Media Preview shows the buttons as they'll look; the HTML Code Preview is what you copy. Paste it into an HTML card in the post, at the end of the story or wherever you like.
Web, email and ActivityPub. The buttons are plain HTML with no JavaScript, so the same card works on your website, in the email Ghost sends, and in ActivityPub readers. On the web your theme's CSS applies to them, so you may need to tweak the styles: Optional Styles for Web is a CSS block to paste into your theme's code injection as a starting point, including a hover effect.
The Newsletter Digests tool's Share buttons section uses the same circle style, pointed at each issue automatically.
